OPTION 1 - STAY AT THE START LINE  - BINNA BURRA LODGE

There are a huge variety of accommodation options available at Binna Burra Lodge, including:

  • 2 & 4 person rainforest camp sites;
  • 2, 4 & 6 person rainforest safari tents;
  • Studio, 1BR, 2BR, 3BR Skylodge Apartments
  • 2pp Casuarina Rooms (share bathroom)
  • 2pp Acacia Rooms (ensuite bathroom)

You can also book dining (breakfast and dinner options available) and post-race transport with your accommodation.

Things to note:

  • For those staying at Binna Burra lodge, bib collection will be available on the Friday afternoon/evening.
  • The race starts from the lower carpark below Binna Burra Lodge. Transport to the start line will be by bus (5min drive) and is included with your accommodation.
  • Return transfers from the finish line (at Springbrook) to your accommodation at Binna Burra Lodge need to be booked directly with the Lodge in addition to your accommodation. We recommend doing this at the time of making your reservation.
  • If you book a single night of accommodation only (the Friday night), you will need to arrange early checkout on the Friday to ensure your room is vacant by 10am on Saturday.

OPTION 2 - STAY AT THE FINISH LINE - SPRINGBROOK PLATEAU

Springbrook Mountain has numerous - mostly B&B style - accommodation options, and we recommend that runners and spectators make use of Google, Trip Advisor etc to view the options available to them.

There is a National Parks campground (The Settlement Camping Area) situated directly adjacent to the race finish line. Note that campsites are extremely limited and bookings are essential - more information is available here.

Runners who are staying up at Springbrook will need to make use of the event morning shuttle buses departing from the event parking area (see TRANSPORT). The buses will be departing before 4am, so please keep this in mind when choosing your accommodation as it will involve a very early start on Saturday morning.

Bib collection will be available on Saturday morning at the shuttle bus pick-up area only. There will be no bib collection at the Binna Burra start precinct on race morning.

OPTION 3 - DRIVE TO SPRINGBROOK ON RACE MORNING

For runners who wish to drive to the event on race morning only (no accommodation) you will be required to drive to the event parking area on Springbrook Plateau (approx. 30min drive from Mudgeeraba, the nearest off-mountain town) (see TRANSPORT). From there you will be shuttled to the start line at Binna Burra.

All buses will be departing before 4:30am, so please keep this in mind as it will involve a very early start on Saturday morning.

Bib collection will be available on Saturday morning at the shuttle bus pick-up area only. There will be no bib collection at the Binna Burra start precinct on race morning.

You will be able to walk to your cars from the finish line.

Transport Logistics

Participants ARE NOT to drive to the start line on race morning. Unless you are staying at Binna Burra Lodge on the Friday night prior (see ACCOMMODATION), participants must make use of the event shuttle bus.

Note that given the early start for the shuttle bus, it's not a bad idea to bring a sleeping mask and some headphones to try and grab a little extra sleep before the race! We will then transport any of this gear back to the finish line for you.

EVENT SHUTTLE BUS

Participants must make their way to the event finish area at the Settlement Day Use Area - Carricks Rd, Springbrook (see map below).

Carpark opens: 3:40am
Bib Collection: 3:40am - 4:10am
Buses depart: 4:15am

NOTE: DO NOT BE LATE as the bus will not be able to wait

The parking area gate will be locked at the time of bus departure - please ensure that if you are being dropped off that your driver leaves before this time.

For participants staying at Binna Burra (Lodge or Campground) on Friday night, there will be a shuttle running from the main lodge entrance down to the startline - refer to the participant information guide for times.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Participants are not to drive themselves to the start line on race morning - please make use of the event buses from Springbrook Mountain or stay in accommodation at Binna Burra. Bib collection will be available on Saturday morning at the shuttle bus pick-up area only (unless you are staying at Binna Burra - see option 1 in ACCOMMODATION) - there will be no bib collection available at the Binna Burra start precinct on race morning.

  • There will be no return transport to Binna Burra after the event (unless you have booked a transfer with Binna Burra Lodge - see ACCOMMODATION).
