OPTION 1 - STAY AT THE START LINE  - BINNA BURRA LODGE

There are limited options this year so move quickly:

  • Studio, 1BR, 2BR, 3BR Skylodge Apartments

  • Tent & Drive-On sites

  • Safari Tents for 2-6 people

Things to note:

  • Bib collection will be available at the Binna Burra Tea House, 6:00-7:30pm Friday. This is available only to those staying at the Binna Burra Sky Lodge and Campgrounds.

  • The race starts from the lower carpark within the National Park at the Information Centre. Transport to the start line will be by the event bus (5min drive) and is included with your accommodation. Instructions for meeting the bus on race morning will be provided at bib collection.

  • Return transfers from the finish line (at Springbrook) will be provided as part of your entry. Transfer times will be communicated closer to event day.

  • If you book a single night of accommodation only (the Friday night), you will need to arrange early checkout on the Friday to ensure your room is vacant by 10am on Saturday however two night minimums typically apply for weekends (plus we’d love you to support the Lodge get back on its feet with more custom)!

Call 07 5533 3622 (Mention that you wish to book accommodation as a part of the Wild Earth Coastal High 50)

OPTION 2 - STAY AT HOME OR ON THE CENTRAL PART OF THE GOLD COAST

Our travel plans for 2022 are a little different to years past; and with a Nerang departure for buses now available, your best option maybe staying at home (if based in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Northern NSW) as the Nerang bus point (final destination to be formalised with Council) is just off the M1. If you’re visiting; a stay in the central part of the Coast may work well for you!

OPTION 3 - STAY AT THE FINISH LINE - CAMPING AT SETTLEMENT DAY USE AREA

As part of our event permit for 2022, there will be a section of the Settlement Day Use Area oval allocated for participant camping for the Friday night prior to the event (September 2, 2022).

Things to note:

  • Camping can be booked as part of your event registration - this can be accessed again closer to the date.

  • Camping is restricted to either tents or campervans only (no towed vehicles - caravans, camper-trailers etc).

  • Vehicle access to the camping area will be between 4:00-7:00pm only - this will be strictly enforced to ensure a NO NOISE policy from 8pm (to allow participants a proper rest pre-race).

  • There will be space allocated for one vehicle only per site; please car pool where possible.

  • Camping is for a single night only (Friday), and all tents and campervans must be packed down and off the oval by 5pm on race day.

  • Bib collection will be available on Friday evening between 4:00-7:00pm at the Settlement Day Use Area.

  • Runners who are camping at the finish line need to make use of the event morning shuttle buses departing from the event parking area (see TRANSPORT). The buses will be departing between 4.00-4:15am.

  • NOTE - food options are LIMITED in Springbrook and there is nothing available at the campground - please plan accordingly!

BOOKINGS:

Camping is $12pp and can be booked as part of your registration. You can add this later by going back to your registration confirmation email and going back into the registration system. Note that your fee is paid to Qld Parks & Wildlife Service for use of the venue.

OPTION 4 - STAY AT SPRINGBROOK PLATEAU

Springbrook Mountain has numerous - mostly B&B style - accommodation options, and we recommend that runners and spectators make use of Google, Trip Advisor etc to view the options available to them.

Runners who are staying up at Springbrook will need to make use of the event morning shuttle buses departing from the event parking area (see TRANSPORT). The buses will be departing between 4.00-4.15am, so please keep this in mind when choosing your accommodation as it will involve a very early start on Saturday morning.

Your last chance for bib collection will be available on Saturday morning at the shuttle bus pick-up area only. There will be no bib collection at the Binna Burra start precinct on race morning.

OPTION 5 - DRIVE TO SPRINGBROOK ON RACE MORNING

For runners who still wish to drive to the event on race morning only (so your car awaits at the end of the race), you will be required to drive to the event parking area on Springbrook Plateau (see TRANSPORT). From there you will be shuttled to the start line at Binna Burra. Please car pool where possible to reduce cars (and sleepy drivers) on the road!

All buses will be departing between 3.45-4.00am, so please keep this in mind as it will involve a VERY early start on Saturday morning.

Bib collection will be available on Saturday morning at the shuttle bus pick-up area only. There will be no bib collection at the Binna Burra start precinct on race morning.

The upside to this option is that you will then be able to walk (gingerly) to your cars from the finish line after you’re all done!
